What is Nanotechnology?
the branch of technology that deals with dimensions and tolerances of less than 100 nanometres, especially the manipulation of individual atoms and molecules
There are many different views of precisely what is included in nanotechnology. In general , however, most agree that three things are important:
1. Small size, measured in 100s of nanometers or less
2. Unique properties because of the small size
3. Control the structure and composition on the nm scale in order to control the properties.
The scientific field of nanotechnology is still evolving, and there doesn’t seem to be one definition that everybody agrees on. It is known that nano deals with matter on a very small scale: larger than atoms but minor than a breadcrumb. It is also known that matter at the nano scale can behave differently than bulk matter. Beyond that, individuals and groups focus on different aspects of nanotechnology
